01

Confirm the vehicle when booking

Ask whether winter tyres are fitted for the whole rental, whether 4WD is guaranteed and whether compatible chains are supplied or permitted. During official chain control, winter-tyre vehicles also need chains.

Choose cargo capacity for skis, wet gear and every passenger, not seat count alone.

02

Check visibility equipment before departure

Locate the snow brush and scraper, test the demister and washer, and understand the wipers. Clear the roof, every window, mirrors, lights and number plates before driving.

Waterproof gloves, suitable boots and charging cables are useful. Do not pour boiling water on frozen glass.

03

Know when not to drive

Equipment does not overcome road closures, warnings or whiteout conditions. Save the rental emergency contact and roadside-assistance process, and delay or change transport when conditions exceed your experience.
