01

Clear the whole vehicle

Start with the roof, then clear the front and rear glass, bonnet, mirrors, lights, indicators and number plates. Do not create only a small viewing hole and begin driving.

JAF warns that roof snow can slide onto the windscreen during braking and block the driver's view.

02

Do not rush with boiling water

Avoid thermal shock and refreezing. Use the vehicle demister, scraper and snow brush according to the vehicle instructions, and do not force frozen wipers to move.

03

Choose a safe place to work

Stay away from moving traffic and slippery slopes. Use gloves and suitable boots. Ask the rental provider if the vehicle has no snow brush or scraper.
