AUTUMN GUIDE
Early to mid-November
01

Walk from the station into the old town

Connect the city museum area, the temple promenade, Shonenji and Atago-machi's covered street. Rather than visiting every temple, choose a few that match the season and available time.

Collect a current town map at the station to understand entrances and the return route.

02

A temple may not always be open

Services and community events can make a temple unavailable. Do not enter a hall, residence or private area unless a sign or member of the temple welcomes visitors.

Keep voices low, follow photography notices and avoid stepping on moss or garden planting.

03

City colour follows the highlands

The tourism bureau gives early to mid-November as a typical guide for downtown foliage, later than many highland areas. Use the current-year report rather than treating that as a guarantee.
