01

Spring: flowers and lake

Combine Nanohana Park, Lake Hokuryuko and a roadside stop. Because the Nozawa-side road at Lake Hokuryuko is closed, plan the route as an Iiyama-side return rather than a loop.

02

Winter: choose one direction

Select Nozawa, Madarao, Togari or another single area. Trying several mountain destinations can leave too little time and increases exposure to changing snow conditions.

03

Protect the return window

Allow time to drive back to the city, refuel, unload luggage, inspect the car and walk to the station. Add a larger margin in winter.
